About

I am a dedicated UX Researcher and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) graduate student at DePaul University, with a solid background in software engineering in the domains of 3D, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR). I am driven by my passion for cutting-edge technologies and how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to enhance user experiences within these fields.

With extensive experience in software engineering, I bring a unique perspective to the world of UX research, enabling me to identify and address technical challenges while keeping the user at the heart of the process. In addition, my expertise in VR and AR allows me to envision immersive, engaging, and accessible experiences that bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds.

As an HCI student, I continually expand my knowledge of user-centered design principles, cognitive psychology, and usability testing. I am also skilled at rapid prototyping of ideas using frontend frameworks like React and Angular and 3D game engines such as Unity, Three.js, and Babylon.js. I am eager to apply these skills to create innovative solutions that improve people's interaction with technology.

Experience

Graduate Research Assistant, DePaul University (Dec 2022 - Present)

As a Graduate Research Assistant, I have led a team of two students in a pioneering project that utilizes virtual reality and large language models to enhance communication skills among students. By conducting in-depth user research, creating interactive prototypes, and applying user-centered design principles, our project has seen a ~25% improvement in participants' communication abilities. My additional work with virtual reality has deepened my understanding of human behavior and human-computer interaction, further solidifying my position as a competent researcher in the HCI field.

Software Engineer II, Flipkart (Sept 2018 - Jan 2022)

At Scapic, I drove innovation in XR by developing no-code SaaS products for 360, VR, and AR experiences, which led to a 40% increase in user engagement. After pivoting to the retail industry, our team successfully enabled businesses with 3D and AR experiences, resulting in a 10% decrease in returns and 30% increase in sales. Notable accomplishments include presenting at NRF 19 and 20, creating a 3D and AR customizer for Royal Enfield, and developing XR remote debugging experiences for Airbus, which if implemented reduced the need for expert technician travel by 80%. Following Flipkart's acquisition of Scapic in late 2020, I took charge of key initiatives in computer vision. Among our successes was the launch of a live try-on feature for beauty products, which increased user satisfaction by 20%, and a visualization tool for furniture and electronics. Additionally, our partnership with Snap to integrate Camera Kit for augmented reality product launches further enhanced the user experience on Flipkart's app.

Software Engineer, Digital Agents Interactive (June 2016 - August 2018)

In this role, I focused on developing internal products and service-based projects while honing my user research skills. This experience laid the foundation for my deep interest in human-computer interaction and user-centered design, ultimately propelling me toward a career in UX research.
